FAQS
How long are the tours?
Our tours range from 15–20 minutes (Spirit of Sedona) to a full day (Three Canyon Tour). The Canyon Panorama runs 45 minutes, Canyons & Cliffs 60 minutes, The Ancients Way 75 minutes, The Hog Wild 90 minutes, and our AirXperience tours to the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon run 6-8 hours. We also offer fully custom durations for private bookings.
How many passengers can fly at once?
Our Cessna 206 has 6 seats available per flight, but group size is determined by combined passenger weight. For larger groups, we coordinate multiple aircraft departing together so everyone flies at the same time.
Is there a weight limit?
For safety and aircraft performance, we ask that each passenger disclose their weight at booking. Our team will advise based on the specific aircraft and tour selected. We do charge an additional half seat for passengers over 275 lbs.
What should I wear?
Can I bring a camera?
Is motion sickness a concern?
Small aircraft can feel turbulence differently than commercial planes. If you're prone to motion sickness, eat a light meal beforehand and let your pilot know before you board. Early morning flights offer a smoother ride than afternoon flights.
Are children allowed?
Do I need flying experience?
Where do we depart from?
All tours depart from Cottonwood Airport, with complimentary transport available. Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure.
What if the weather is bad?
Are gift cards available?
Can I book a private or custom tour?
Yes. We can design multi-destination days and combo tours. All AirXperiences are exclusively private. Local Tours can also be upgraded to a private experience for an additional fee. Contact us to start planning.
What aircraft do you fly?
We operate a fleet of well-maintained Cessna. The Cessna 207 is our primary tour aircraft — beloved for its large windows and exceptional visibility. The Cessna 207 seats up to 6 passengers, dependent on combined passenger weight.
Are the aircraft well maintained?
Do you offer airport transfers or ground transportation?
Yes — through The Adventurous Group, our parent operation, we offer VIP ground transportation including airport transfers, private SUVs, and Sprinter vans throughout Arizona. This can be booked as a standalone service or combined with any aerial tour for a complete day experience.
Can you accommodate large groups?
Absolutely, we can accomodate large groups. If necessary, we can coordinate multiple aircrafts for your tour. Corporate events, team retreats, family reunions, and VIP guest experiences are all welcome. Contact us to arrange the details.
Do you offer combo packages with ground activities?
Yes. Sedona Air Tours offers ground and air combo tours of Antelope Canyon and the Grand Canyon. We can build custom packages that combine your aerial tour with ground transportation and hotel transfers. Tell us what your ideal Arizona day looks like and we'll design it.
